I just finished tidying up the kitchen and putting the kids book bags and shoes out for the morning....
it is amazing to think we are almost finished with another year of school....these years i AGONIZE over...to go to school, to homeschool...pass by so quickly that i wonder what was all the worry about!
this will be jack and esme's first full year of school...
and i have to say it has been good....truly so good.
while they have learned SO MUCH, i have also learned some very important things...
that being in school has been so good for them...to become more independent, to trust in the Lord more, to figure out what they like and don't like, to read read read and do all sorts of academic things i honestly would have said they weren't ready for, to succeed and master things, to do wonderful art and learn archery and run races etc etc etc....
and for me, i have found myself again in some ways... i never lost myself ha! but i have started gardening again and i have enjoyed quiet time with titus and walks in the woods and moments with josh to chat during the day when all is quiet...
i think back to my childhood....and i remember my dad driving my brother and i to a private school a long way from our house....i remember getting their extra early on my dad's way to work and i remember staying late for sports or until my mum could pick us up....we spent a lot of time on the school grounds.
and i remember LOVING my childhood...and not feeling like i didn't have lots of time with my parents and brother...i feel like i had it all honestly.
i suppose i hope jack and esme feel the same way....that they have a full life that is guiding them towards Jesus, and refining their brains to be able to use it to its potential, and that they are joyful.
at the end of the day, i think children can come to this place in so many ways...in and out of school...and for us, i am happy that this is where ours have landed for now...bc it is good. thank you Jesus.
