reading by the fire
i know our kids will forget much of their childhood…it just happens.
but there are certain things i hope they hold on to…
sweet things or exciting things or things that let them forever remember how much we love them…
reading by the fire is one i hope sticks…not for any great reason i suppose but just bc of its sweetness
we don’t have a quiet household…not usually…
4 kids, 2 dogs, our love of music…radio and instruments,
so when we are all in one room there is a certain level of “noise” but when we all read together, we are next to one another but everyone is quiet in their own space…
i wouldn’t like it this way all the time…the chatter and squeals remind me of being alive =)
but sometimes the crackling fire and turning of pages brings such a safety and joy…and i love sharing these moments with our kids…

couldnt resist
josh has been super dad with new baby gillian around…
cleaning, toting kids to and fro…and
discovering the new talent of COOKING!
the kids informed me “mama, you are a good cook but daddy is awesome!”
ha!!!
seriously though…he has made some incredible dishes…and i think it is bc his palate (sp?) is adventurous…so his pasta had walnuts, olive oil and balsalmic vinegar on it…wow, it was good.
anywho…i came in the other day and he was shirtless cooking away…
i mean, i just couldn’t resist a photo…
me?
i just sat down and enjoyed the meal…and the view ;)
