such a sweet and slow day....
jack to school, ez and i worked on the greenhouse a bit and just enjoyed being outside....picked up jack and then we all piled in car and had a picnic of turkey sandwiches and salt and vinegar chips bc it was TOO cold for a picnic! violin lesson...jack works so hard....he concentrates and does what is asked...even when like today i could tell he had no idea what she was asking of him =)....then to the land to play in the dirt...it warmed up! mud puppies....home for a bath and big salad....deep bath and josh made cookies with kids....
and the footers were poured! yay! ez and i were there when the big "bob the builder" trucks came out =)
they should frame up walls wed for basement...then pour shortly after and then BRICK!!!!!
jack is maybe THE Most excited individual about this.....he can't wait to help!
worked of school this evening.......monday and tuesday are veritas evenings in preparation...now about the snuggle on couch with josh and stella =)

dirt piles...
the pop down...
sooo, we had a little trip planned this weekend to the beach..st george's island.
i was eager to try out our new pop up, josh managed to swap a day...so packed up and ready to go we were friday morning...
and then i looked for the key.
and looked.
and looked.
i very well could have misplaced them (not at all beyond my capabilities =))
but i hang them in the kitchen where esme's little paws often visit and o how she loves to play with keys.
we all agreed it has been quite a while since we'd seen them there so of course no one could remember playing with them.
SO, i called down and there is a little inn...called st george inn, photoed from the back here and it was perfect.
60 dollars a night...book 2 nights and then 3rd is free. pet friendly, all rooms open onto porch through french doors, a block away from bay and a couple blocks from beach...you can really look either way and see both the bay and the beach....
we could walk easily to the ocean, playground, lighthouse, little grocery store, icecream shop, blue parrot restaurant....
we packed up late friday night (after a day of searching) and headed out.
we put the kids on the floor (i brought 2 crib mattresses....boy those things have been handy over the years)
and had a blast.
it was a bit of a whirlwind...we arrived late friday (takes us 4 hrs from here) and then left sunday late morning...
but amazing what you can do in a day of just playing...
my phone was getting over being buried in the dirt last week (sorry if i didn't answer texts and calls! i lost my phone for a while and amazingly it still worked as i heard it ringing from underground days after i lost it!!!)
so i just didn't take it out of the truck....we just PLAYED with our kids.
and for that reason alone...all the driving, the hauling or stuff up stairs, the wind and chilly weather...it was all SOOOO worth it...
too often at home i am doing other things while hanging out with them...and a lot bc i need to....laundry while chatting, dishes while listening to jack read, texting while talking to them....distracted so often bc of everything from planning a meal to checking email....
i LOVED being just with them and with josh....
and if you are ever wanting an inexpensive break...st george can be awesome...great winter deals....
o, one more funny thing....jack collected all the shells that reminded him of bacon. ha!!!
i'll take a photo to post so you can see what i mean =)
