sanding and their summer projects
titus has taken to sanding little bits of plywood…
he can’t quite hold it yet but loves to rest the wood against it and watch it change shape!
the kids read a summer book and then needed to make some sort of presentation about their book…
jack drew his dog shadow and then cut and sanded him out…
esme read “a tale of rescue” also about a dog!
she made a poster with all sorts of scenes from the book…
they will present at our first co-op day with thursday!

found the balloon in pine mountain about 30 miles away!!!
we were losing hope…it had been 3 and a half hours and the gps still wasnt working…
which meant it was lost in space and frozen or the battery got too cold and stopped working !!!
it was SOOO exciting when the ping came through that the locale was just up the road near our friends house!!!
we all tailgated there, got permission from owners and headed into a cow pasture!
a storm was brewing and lightening was all around…it was quite theatrical.
sue spied the parachute in the trees….so josh climbed up after john went home for a pole saw
victory!
we later downloaded the video which is wonderful…it only lasts the first 50 minutes of the flight however due to the temps the battery shut down on the camera…but it continued up for another hour and half!!! near space! hard to believe we don’t have pictures of near space! the camera was in a vaccuum up high so the pressure squeezed the camera in its case and it was HARD to pry it open!
all in all, a wonderful experience and super fun for all i think…
will try and get some still shots on here of the stratosphere!!!
