Coaxing fall :)

I toasted some wheat berries today and then boiled them then added them with some tomatoes we canned last month and some onions and peppers and spices... Had beans boiling all morning and added some of them too.... Veggie chili! Come on fall!!!

Great book on Klimt and his cat... I love that he used lots if gold to show the wealth of love :) kids enjoyed it so much!

paper clay!!!!!

i have been reading about how to make paper clay (1 roll wet toilet paper, 2 tbsp mineral oil, 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 cup salt and 1 cup drywall mud) and after kids learned all about tree id and edible plants last week i thought we could try out new clay to make some identification leaves! anywho....today is my trial while kids play but like it so much! i read u can get a ball to air dry and great for sculpting with a knife too....i have zero ability to sculpt anything but thinking kids might enjoy if we study a sculptor this year!

Making frames

At the end of the semester the kids r going to have an art show with their friends where the kids all bring and hang up a handful of pictures.... So we r making frames from cardboard and silver tape this afternoon!
