making paper

i bought a $4 make your own paper set at the thrift shop yesterday...
and really you don't have to have all the bits and pieces but it made it easier and the kids had a BLAST
there was a blender (which later jack used to blend up all sorts of drinks for me =)) but we resorted to the trusty real blender... to make the pulp
then we added lots more water to it in the tray...
put into the mesh....
squished in the press
and then dried in the dehydrator!
jack added some flowers and leaves...
it was really fun and quite pretty...

minnihaha falls

just behind the cabin is minnehaha....which i don't quite know how to spell...
but i think it is the prettiest waterfall around....it is so accessable and you can see it without having to hang over a cliff =)
it is just beautiful....

hiking

katie and i took the kids one morning on a hike up the waterfall...then across a downed tree and then down the other side...
it was such an adventure! we didn't have a trail for some of it...so bushwacking with little ones was kinda funny...
the boys loved it!
