in search of the Christmas tree =)

after walking through the woods, we returned to find their Christmas tree growing right by our gate! imagine that!
the kids dragged it out of the woods like the victors that they are =)

my friend elisha came over today with her family in hunt of a Christmas tree!
the kids played on the bales of hay...which included soaring through the air into daddy george's arms..
it was a hit for sure =)

we have been so here and there lately we haven't had time to just hang out and draw or "school" so today we picked some branches from outside and made as many "h" words as we could think of and then decorated the tree with them...
and we built houses and played cards with our "h" words...
it was fun!

dress up and their rooms

yesterday the kids just had a blast dressing up in daddy's clothes...
and i snapped a few photos of their rooms with the new paint colors...
they are just lighter shades of what was there...but i like them so much better!

josh moved to another little cabin closer to columbus...about half an hour!
it is soooo pretty!

the kids and i will head that way soon...jack has another recital this sunday...and then we'll head there...
and they have a pretty ick cold...so i don't want to go down and make anyone sick...

since home today though they have been running around like crazy!
they dressed up in mom and dad's clothes =) made tents and forts...
then we ran around outside until dark...in the haybales, in the field...
they might have colds but they are happy =)

looking around columbus...a lot!

first of all, columbus is really beautiful!
i had this thought of it being a city and that was it...but there is such pretty countryside..
here are a few snaps around the cabin and en route to columbus..about 45 min out...
just lovely!

josh and i drove and drove around...and then drove some more...looked at many houses to buy/rent....some land...some barns..
i think mostly to give us a good idea of what is out there...
i fell in love with a house that has been on the market FOREVER...and before josh could go and see it (later that afternoon) someone put a bid on it and it sold!
at least i am sure that wasn't our house =)

cabin on the flint river

jenny and daniel let us stay at their family's cabin this past weekend...on the flint river...it is sooo beautiful there!
it was like a vacation for sure...jack found an old gun and loved trapsing around hunting...
we swung in the swings and even watched a little swiss family robinson...very appropriate =)

stopping off last friday to see josh's grandmama

grace's sister janice and her husband jay were there for thanksgiving...it was so nice to see them all~!
esme and jack loved the company and did great on the car trip...
