Mushrooms and Fallen Bee Hive

we went to visit the tree which i've noticed the past couple years housed our honeybees...
they fled the hive and took up residence in a tree 2 years ago...
and today when we visited it, it had fallen!
and it was fascinating to discover how hollow it was and to see all the combs that had been eaten by all sorts of stuff!

morning walk

that felt like the fall!
this morning was just beautiful!
josh worked this weekend so we didn't venture to church by ourselves....we took a walk and jack made up songs:
"Jesus loves me and wants me to be strong and mighty"
pretty good song =)
and there were sooo many mushrooms in the woods! we followed from one to the other through the woods...

sammy followed us too!

To Lake Russell with Cameron and Co

our friends dodd and cameron are spending this week at the lake and asked us up for the day...
we have been so running here and there lately that it was a wonderful break...
we met their friends jim and robin and their little sadie....
it really was such fun...from the dock we took a boat to rock lagoon where we could all play in the sand and swim and cameron caught fish in a bucket!
the kids are brown as buns and sleeping soundly as we speak.

I could never be a girlscout...

or at least a good one =)
we woke up a couple days ago to find the water pump was broken...and poor josh couldn't fix it as he was out the door for work at 6:30
now, this didn't have to be a huge deal....were i a prepared citizen of our household, but it just so happens i was on our 3rd day of makeshift diapers and no wipes (i used TP with a cup of water)...and that morning had big plans that i just couldn't shift around (feeding the ducks at the pond, packing up trash and recyclables and doing a "dump run", playing at the pool with friends)
anywho...josh bet i'd be crazy by lunch....i gave myself a few more hours...
turns out i made it to 2pm and then went to buy some water...
AND yay! josh came home soon after and fixed it right up with his 2 sidekicks...jack and sammie =)
he is so handy!
